We are here to empower the community and build resilient societies

The Swiss Re Foundation reflects the social and humanitarian values of Swiss Re. Our vision is to build societies that are able to withstand and recover from health, environmental and economic risks. We do this in communities where Swiss Re operates or intends to do so in future, as well as in developing countries outside its footprint.

In Japan, we have been working with the Voluntary Architects’ Network (VAN) since 2015 whose main objective is to organize post-disaster aid in the field of construction. Together, we aim to empower vulnerable communities that were affected by disasters to become more resilient and provide them with a better living environment.
