About the Role

You will be trusted to work on quarterly valuations, experience study, assumption setting, and model improvements, while also collaborating with junior colleagues and driving initiatives that enhance team performance. The role provides meaningful exposure through collaboration with auditors, cross-functional teams, and senior stakeholders — enabling you to make an impact and grow into a confident, well-rounded actuarial professional.

•  Analyze and validate quarterly financial results under IFRS 17, UK GAAP, and Statutory bases. Present storyline and explain drivers of results to the UK Chief Actuary for sign-off.
•  Review and validate the impact of complex changes across data, assumptions, models, and methodologies.
•  Carry out experience studies and assumption setting, enhance liability modelling, and ensure clear, consistent documentation of outcomes.
•  Deliver analysis and commentary, and provide timely responses to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
•  Drive analytics and process improvements by identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and implementing best practices.

About the Team 

We are a part of L&H Valuation UKI and South Africa team and is made up of people based out of London and Bangalore. Within the team, we are a dedicated group of Actuaries who are passionate about adding value to the business and support our colleagues across different teams and regions.

About You 

•  Proven progress in actuarial qualification. 
•  Actuarial/reserving experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
•  Solid knowledge of P&L and balance sheet analysis within the insurance context .

•  Experience in IFRS reporting is an advantage.
•  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
•  Proactive, detail-oriented, and keen to drive improvements.
•  Programming skills in one of the following languages Python, R, or VBA.

For London based role, the base salary range for this position is between GBP 36,000 and GBP 54,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: 
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
