About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you'll be at the heart of developing and enhancing our SwiftRe® platform, an Azure Cloud-based application serving a worldwide user base. You'll collaborate with talented professionals in an empowered agile environment where your technical contributions will directly impact our global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop high-quality backend services using C# and .NET 8 within our Azure Cloud ecosystem
Collaborate with Technical Squad Leads to create efficient solution designs and implement best practices
Build and maintain microservices utilizing both synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns
Work with various Azure Cloud Services including AKS, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and ASB
Ensure all code meets high security and compliance standards required for our global financial services
Integrate with core legacy services across Swiss Re's value chain
Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Support the successful delivery of innovative features in our fast-paced environment

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
5+ years of experience with .NET/C# with a focus on transactional enterprise applications
Experience in (micro-) service solution design using synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns
Familiarity with relational and non-relational database technology/concepts
Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
These are additional nice to haves:
Experience with Azure Cloud Services, particularly AKS, Cosmos DB, or Azure Service Bus
Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Angular or frontend technologies for better collaboration with UI teams
Experience working in financial services or insurance industry
Agile methodology experience, particularly in Scrum or Kanban frameworks
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
