This is your opportunity to be at the heart of a data transformation journey. As a Data Engineer within the D&T CorSo Data Engineering team, you'll play a meaningful role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers analytics and business intelligence across the organisation. You'll work in a modern cloud environment, collaborating closely with stakeholders and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that make data truly accessible and actionable.
This is not just a technical role — it's a chance to make a real impact on how data is used across a global commercial insurance business.

Design, develop, test, and maintain robust data pipelines and data management solutions that are reliable, scalable, and performant
Support the implementation of end-to-end data flows covering ingestion, transformation, processing, and consumption layers
Contribute to building scalable data solutions that serve analytics, reporting, and business use cases across the organisation
Champion data transparency by creating and maintaining documentation, improving data discoverability, and enabling self -service for data consumers
Uphold and evolve data engineering standards, best practices, and governance guidelines within the team

The D&T CorSo Data Engineering team sits at the intersection of technology and commercial insurance, with a bold ambition: to become a truly data driven commercial insurer. We find innovative ways to harness data to provide risk transfer solutions for our clients — making them, and the world, more resilient.
We are a fast-paced, forward-thinking team that leverages modern cloud technologies and big data platforms to deliver compelling analytics solutions in a competitive marketplace. You'll be joining a strong, collaborative engineering community where knowledge sharing is encouraged, best practices are celebrated, and your growth as an engineer is actively supported. Whether you're deepening your technical expertise or broadening your understanding of the insurance domain, this team offers a rich environment to develop and thrive.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both technical depth and a genuine curiosity about data. You're someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and enjoys working across teams to solve complex data challenges. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, eager to learn, and motivated by the idea of making data work harder for the business and its customers.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
Python programming proficiency — proven ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for data engineering tasks
Data pipeline development experience — hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining data transformation and ingestion pipelines
Distributed data processing — familiarity with frameworks such as Apache Spark or similar technologies for large-scale data processing
Cloud platform experience — working knowledge of cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, including data services and storage solutions
English language – strong communication skills both written and spoken
These are additional nice to haves:
Experience with analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
Familiarity with data governance principles and metadata management practices
Exposure to agile ways of working and collaborative engineering team environments
Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related quantitative field — we warmly welcome applications from graduates and those at different career stages
Data architecture understanding — solid grasp of concepts such as data warehouses, data marts, and how data flows through an organisation to support analytics
