Data Integration & BI Platform Engineer

Regular Employment

Location: Bratislava, SK

Are you interested in building and running the data integration and reporting platforms that support analytics across Swiss Re? Join our team and help evolve critical Azure Data Factory (Self-Hosted Integration Runtime) and Microsoft BI services so they stay reliable, secure, and easy to operate.

About the role

As a Data Integration & BI Platform Engineer, you’ll be a key technical contributor for SHIR and the MSBI stack (SSIS/SSRS/PBIRS) running on Windows. You’ll help keep the platform stable day-to-day while also improving how we monitor, change, and scale it.

What you’ll do

  • Own and evolve parts of the SHIR/MSBI platform architecture, standards, and roadmap
  • Improve reliability through monitoring, SLO/SLI-style metrics, and continuous platform enhancements
  • Support major incidents when they happen, helping with technical coordination and communication
  • Manage changes and releases with clear validation and rollback practices
  • Maintain practical documentation (runbooks, decisions, support guides) and share knowledge with support teams
  • Prioritize technical work balancing stability, compliance, scale, and cost

What you bring

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory SHIR (HA/scale-out, patching/versioning)
  • Good experience with MSBI (SSIS/SSRS/PBIRS) including operations, security, and performance topics
  • Solid Windows Server administration knowledge (services, patching, troubleshooting, access controls, certificates)
  • Solid security fundamentals (RBAC, secrets, certificates/TLS, auditability)
  • Automation skills (PowerShell and/or Python) and familiarity with CI/CD (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • Several years in platform/infrastructure/operations roles, with meaningful ownership of similar services

Nice to have

  • T-SQL troubleshooting and performance basics
  • SSAS Tabular exposure, IaC (Bicep/Terraform), and/or Azure certifications
  • Experience working with vendors and SLAs
We support hybrid working, allowing you to work from home at least half of the time.

For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between 3 800€ and 6 300€ for a full-time role.

The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
