About the Master Data Management (MDM) Team

  • We are a team of expert business analysts and software engineers, spread across multiple locations around the globe, driving the MDM function at Swiss Re.
  • We are responsible for driving all stages of software development including business analysis, solution design, application architecture, development, testing, roll-out and operational platform management for nearly 1000 master and reference data sets.
  • We are the main contact for our internal clients and business partners for the MDM processes, technology platform and knowledge.

About the Role

  • You would be working with Senior data managers within the MDM team and internal business partners across the globe to analyse the business processes and requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications for the development team.
  • Collaborating with various partners to define new processes, develop data models, drive the information governance frameworks, improve data quality and create maintain the data mapping specifications
  • You will be required to own and handle incidents, problems and change requests for the data assets under your ownership.
  • Work within a small squad to deliver assigned projects in the above-mentioned fields; also comfortable in working on technical, configuration and process related tasks independently.
  • Support software releases, including communication with clients and other interfacing applications/teams, coordination of user testing and training. Incorporate their feedback into the product backlog for constant improvements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Senior data managers, data owners/leaders, enterprise architects, other application owners to ensure MDM conversations/topics find the right place in Swiss Re's technology and data landscape.

About You

  • You have a master's or bachelor's degree in information management, computer science, business administration or equal.
  • Over 5 years of working experience as Business Analyst or data analyst and solution design, preferably in a data function (MDM, Data-Warehouse, Data Governance, Meta-Data, Data Catalog etc.).
  • Marvelous social skills and a good grasp of the English language (spoken and written). Strong story telling skills (using MS PowerPoint etc.) are an added advantage!
  • Problem solving comes naturally to you. With your outstanding analytical skills, you consider multiple dimensions and perspectives before arriving at the most optimum solutions to the challenge at hand.
  • Proficient in navigating databases to perform data analysis, data profiling and good data modelling expertise. Working experience with UI/UX design, data integration, using ETL/batch jobs and Web Services (REST/SOAP) is a bonus.
  • It is a big differentiator if you have worked in an MDM team/function before. Knowledge of TIBCO Orchestra EBX MDM is a great advantage!

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,400 and EUR 4,100 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
