About the Role 

As an IFRS Business Analyst Associate in our Subledger Controlling Team, you'll be at the forefront of our FPSL IFRS implementation, working with a multidisciplinary team of Accounting and Actuarial Business Experts. This temporary one-year position offers exceptional exposure to IFRS 17 and the opportunity to shape the future financial accounting and reporting operating model. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support quarterly closing processes, taking responsibility for dedicated checks and validations 

  • Build financial insights by understanding the main drivers of quarterly financial impact 

  • Resolve incidents and provide timely support to ensure smooth operations 

  • Redesign validation frameworks by identifying inefficiency areas where automation is needed 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk Management, FP&A, Regional Finance, IT, and other departments 

  • Contribute to discussions and constructively challenge others to achieve optimal outcomes 

  • Promote automation and process simplification opportunities 

About the Team 

Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) is responsible for the accounting and reporting of accurate and consistent financial information globally for Swiss Re for external reporting and internal analysis facilitating strategic decision-making. This includes IFRS for Group as well as statutory financial information for all Swiss Re's legal entities, including SST and Solvency II. GFO&T spearheads the transformation of Group Finance, streamlining it towards a simpler, more effective forward-looking organization. 

We are a high-performing team with varied strengths of approximately 50 team members primarily located in Bangalore, Bratislava, and Zurich. We work in a friendly, collaborative, and lively team environment. 

About You 

You're a curious and open-minded professional with a passion for financial reporting and a drive to learn and grow. You thrive in collaborative environments and can manage multiple priorities effectively, even during a limited contract period. You're eager to make an impact quickly and develop valuable skills in IFRS 17 implementation. 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 

  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent quantitative skills 

  • Ability to build working relationships across technical fields 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 

  • Flexible mindset and ability to handle multiple priorities 

These are additional nice to haves: 

  • Existing knowledge of IFRS 17 

  • Programming skills such as Python 

  • Understanding of methods for calculating policy liabilities and IFRS financial reporting 

  • Solid understanding of market consistent valuation methods 

  • Experience working in global, cross-functional teams 

The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process. 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
