Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyse tax transactions across the European region, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency at every step
- Support compliance with timelines and quality standards required by fiscal representatives and tax authorities, working closely with experienced senior team members
- Contribute to reporting by generating clear, accurate, and timely reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Build expertise through structured on-the-job training and team knowledge-sharing sessions, developing a strong foundation in European tax operations
- Collaborate across borders with colleagues throughout Europe, gaining valuable exposure to diverse regulatory frameworks and market practices
- Identify patterns and inconsistencies in financial data to support quality control, accuracy, and risk mitigation
About the Team
Our Insurance Premium Tax Team is responsible for verifying, filing, and paying insurance premium taxes across 26 European countries on behalf of various Swiss Re entities and branches. We operate in a fast-paced corporate environment where attention to detail and analytical thinking aren't just valued — they're essential. Based in Bratislava, our team collaborates closely with colleagues across Europe, giving every team member meaningful exposure to diverse markets, regulatory environments, and cross-border ways of working. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- University degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field — or equivalent relevant work experience in finance or business operations
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, with a willingness to develop more advanced analytical skills on the job
- Professional fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to handle numerical data and documentation with accuracy and consistency
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands in a structured environment
These are additional nice to haves:
- Foundational knowledge of tax, accounting, or finance concepts — whether from academic study or early professional experience
- Familiarity with insurance or reinsurance principles
- Proficiency in one or more additional European languages
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1,400 and EUR 2,400 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus. Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
