Operational Resilience Analyst (Hybrid setup)

Regular Employment

Location: Madrid, M, ES

Are you passionate about keeping organisations prepared, protected, and ready for anything? Do you thrive at the intersection of risk, data, and collaboration? If so, this is your opportunity to play a meaningful role in building resilience at one of the world's leading reinsurance companies. Join Swiss Re's Operational Resilience Team and help shape how we prepare for — and respond to — the unexpected.

About the Role

As an Operational Resilience Analyst, you will be at the heart of Swiss Re's efforts to stay strong and operational in the face of disruption. You'll support the delivery of resilience activities across a truly global organisation, working alongside diverse teams to maintain plans, run testing exercises, and generate insights that inform leadership decisions. This is a role where your curiosity, organisational skills, and collaborative spirit will make a real difference — every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Business Units and Functions in maintaining and continuously improving Operational Resilience plans, ensuring they remain relevant, accurate, and actionable
  • Assist in resilience testing and scenario exercises, coordinating logistics, capturing outcomes, and diligently tracking follow-up actions to drive accountability
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and stakeholder updates that translate complex resilience data into clear, compelling narratives for leadership and key audiences
  • Support regulatory and governance-related activities, helping ensure Swiss Re meets its obligations and maintains high standards of compliance
  • Contribute to third-party due diligence and supplier resilience assessments, helping identify and mitigate risks across the supply chain
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including risk, compliance, operations, and technology — to embed resilience thinking across the organisation
  • Gather, organise, and analyse data to surface insights that support informed, evidence-based decision-making
  • Support the team with coordination, planning, and administrative activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across a globally distributed team

About the Team

The Operational Resilience Team is a dynamic, globally connected team with colleagues spanning Zurich, Hyderabad, Bangalore, New York, Madrid, Bratislava, and London. We are united by a shared mission: helping Swiss Re stay operational and strong during disruptions by building and continuously strengthening resilience across the organisation. Our team brings together diverse perspectives, expertise, and backgrounds — and we believe that this diversity is one of our greatest assets. Whether we're running scenario exercises, engaging with regulators, or supporting business units through complex challenges, we do it together, with energy, rigour, and a genuine commitment to making Swiss Re more resilient every day.

About You

You are organised, intellectually curious, and genuinely motivated to learn and grow. You have a knack for making complex topics accessible, enjoy working with data, and bring a collaborative spirit to everything you do. You're someone who stays calm under pressure, takes ownership of your work, and is always looking for ways to add value to the team and the wider organisation.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in risk, compliance, Business Continuity Management, or a closely related field, with a solid foundational understanding of resilience concepts
  • Strong experience contributing to policy and procedural documentation, with a proven ability to translate complex frameworks and concepts into clear, actionable guidelines for diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with the ability to produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate insights effectively

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies and ways of working
  • Hands-on experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, or IT Resilience programmes
  • Data analytical skills, including proficiency in Power BI for building dashboards and visualising resilience metrics
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical and complex ideas clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work on time
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
  • A genuine team player who thrives in collaborative environments and steps up to support colleagues, particularly during high-pressure moments such as crisis situations or tight deadlines
