The L&H Pricing & Contracts Team (LHPC) is a global team with employees located in at least 14 cities around the world, responsible for defining L&H risk appetite, review of large and unusual transactions, pricing tools, methodology and governance, new business steering and contract wording. About the Role:

The Pricing Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the robustness, reliability, and governance of global pricing systems and methodologies. This role extends beyond operational support to include independent risk assessment, coordination of release readiness, and formal preparation of sign off for pricing tool deployments.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, proven experience with pricing tools or actuarial systems, and the ability to influence stakeholders across markets and technical teams. They bring strategic thinking, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the organization’s pricing capabilities and control framework.


Main tasks/activities/responsibilities

Testing, Validation & Governance

  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive testing cycles (functional, regression, UAT) for pricing tools and methodology changes.
  • Perform risk assessments for planned tool releases, identifying model, data, process, or operational risks.
  • Prepare release readiness documentation and contribute to formal Sign Off packages for deployment across markets.
  • Document and escalate discrepancies, defects, or methodology deviations to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain advanced testing frameworks, scripts, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance standards and support audit reviews.


Advanced Support for Market Units

  • Serve as a first line subject matter expert for market units, advising on pricing tool usage, methodology interpretation, and data quality issues.
  • Resolve complex system or model related issues raised by costing actuaries or regional pricing teams.
  • Provide analytical insight to help markets interpret pricing outputs and ensure alignment with approved methodologies.
  • Deliver structured training sessions, knowledge sharing workshops, and onboarding for new team members or markets.

Collaboration with Methodology & Technical Teams

  • Partner closely with the Methodology team to operationalize new pricing methodologies, assumptions, or calibrations.
  • Lead data analyses required for model testing, calibration, and validation.
  • Gather, analyse, and prioritise enhancement requests, driving continuous development of pricing systems.
  • Act as liaison between Market Units, Methodology, and IT to ensure clarity of requirements, timelines, and release deliverables.


Continuous Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify systemic issues or inefficiencies and propose solutions that enhance tool usability, process efficiency, and pricing governance.
  • Lead components of cross functional transformation initiatives, system migrations, or global upgrades.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, standard operating procedures, and global documentation repositories.
  • Evaluate emerging tools, data sources, or analytical approaches to improve pricing quality and operational resilience.


About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 7 actuarial exams passed (CM1 required).
  • 4-5 years of experience in pricing, actuarial support, system implementation, or related insurance/reinsurance functions.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial pricing concepts, models, and market practices.
  • Proven experience in system testing, UAT coordination, or model validation.
  • Experience contributing to risk assessments, controls, or sign off processes is a strong asset.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • High proficiency with Excel, data analytics tools, and pricing environments (SQL, Python, R, Power BI are a plus).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse regions and functions.
