About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to process improvements that enhance our team's effectiveness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly close activities including reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing accurate financial data for internal and external reporting
- Collaborate with auditors by providing necessary documentation and support for both internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with risk and control frameworks and meet all audit requirements
- Perform quality checks on output produced by team members for Corporate Solutions Finance stakeholders
- Conduct comprehensive analysis related to accounting policies, reporting, monitoring, and reconciliation activities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team delivery and efficiency
About the Team
The Corporate Solutions North America Finance team is responsible for the financial management of the Corporate Solutions North America entities, including the quarterly financial closing for US statutory valuations. In addition, the team also contributes to the financial planning and analysis of the entities, providing quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward looking projections as well as a number of projects.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- College graduate with BA or BS in Accounting
- Five plus years of work experience in the insurance industry
- CPA certification or equivalent; 2- 5 years experience
- Strong knowledge of statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with US Statutory accounting principles
These are additional nice to haves:
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
- Experience with financial systems and automation tools
- Project management experience
- Strong presentation skills and experience communicating with senior leadership
The role will be located in our Kansas City, MO office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $126,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
