About the Role
As a Senior Risk Engineer at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, you will be a leading technical authority within our property risk engineering practice, working closely with clients and brokers as the senior technical expert for a complex and high-value portfolio of accounts. You will play a strategic role in shaping risk quality outcomes, driving new business development, and elevating the technical capabilities of the team — all while collaborating with a world-class global organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical relationship with clients and brokers as the senior Account Engineer for a portfolio of complex property accounts, delivering high-quality risk opinions and actionable recommendations
- Conduct in-depth client and prospect visits to assess, interpret, and develop authoritative specialist risk opinions based on first-hand observations, third-party data, and advanced analytical tools
- Partner strategically with Underwriters and Customer & Distribution Managers to drive risk selection decisions, provide expert technical servicing of existing customers, and support the development of new business opportunities
- Design and lead risk engineering servicing plans in close collaboration with customers and brokers, tailored to each client's strategic journey toward superior risk quality ratings
- Champion the use of state-of-the-art risk assessment tools, including risk quality and benchmarking platforms and Swiss Re's proprietary technical guidelines, setting the standard for best practice within the team
- Manage and service local operations of international customers, with a principal focus on the Brazilian book-of-business and broader exposure to other regions across the Americas
- Drive thought leadership within the global RES community by leading projects, authoring technical papers and guidelines, developing standard methodologies, and shaping innovative new service offerings
- Mentor and support junior risk engineers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous professional development within the team
- Represent Swiss Re at industry events, client forums, and technical working groups to strengthen our market presence and reputation

About You
We are looking for a seasoned, detail-oriented engineering professional with outstanding communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in property risk engineering. You bring deep technical expertise in property loss prevention, combined with the business acumen, leadership presence, and entrepreneurial drive to excel in a senior client-facing role.You are self-motivated, digitally savvy, and equally effective working independently or as a leader within a global team.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, or fire protection engineering)
- 8+ years of experience in property loss prevention, risk engineering, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated track record of managing complex, high-value accounts
- Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicatecomplex technical concepts persuasively to senior stakeholders and diverse audiences
- Advanced digital literacy and tech-savviness, including proficiency with Microsoft Office,experience working with databases and data & analytics dashboards, and a strong affinity for digital and innovative solutions

These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience working in a multinational or global insurance/reinsurance environment at a senior level
- Familiarity with international property risk assessment standards, frameworks, and emerging industry trends
- Demonstrated experience authoring technical papers, developing guidelines, or leading training programs
- Willingness to travel primarily within Brazil
- Strong business development instincts and an entrepreneurial, proactive, self-managed approach
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior technical professionals

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office atleast three days per week.
