About the Role

As Senior Strategy Manager, you'll be at the intersection of strategy and execution, supporting the underwriting leadership team in defining strategic direction and portfolio ambitions. You will drive high-impact projects to help achieve the strategic objectives of the Underwriting (UW) organization while ensuring its smooth operational functioning. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic initiatives from conceptualization to execution, including developing and conducting stakeholder interviews, synthesizing actionable insights, and facilitating solution-finding 
  • Drive project management with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables while tracking progress, proactively addressing risks and proposing mitigation measures 
  • Prepare and facilitate senior leadership meetings, townhalls, and global offsites with clear agendas, presentations, documentation, and follow-ups 
  • Support divisional operations including communication strategies, reporting to Group, cost management, and budgeting processes 
  • Handle ad-hoc activities with resilience and flexibility as business needs evolve 

About the Team

The UW Strategy & Divisional Operating Officer team sits within the Global Underwriting Center in the Chief Underwriting Organization of the Business Unit Corporate Solutions. Our team serves as strategic advisors and sparring partners to the CUO and Underwriting Leadership Team. We focus on underwriting strategy development, target liability portfolio definition, and cross-portfolio synergies to create long-term value and competitive advantage for the Business Unit and Group. Additionally, we ensure the Underwriting Organization runs smoothly through supporting the preparation of key leadership meetings, Group reporting requirements, cost management, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication. 

About You

You're a strategic problem-solver with exceptional analytical capabilities and project management expertise. You thrive in collaborative environments while being comfortable working independently. Your communication skills allow you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and you have a talent for translating complex data into clear, actionable insights. You consider yourself to be a "self-starter," able and willing to take initiative and implement measures in a goal-oriented manner. 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional experience, with exposure to consulting or similar strategic roles 
  • Strong analytical capabilities to consolidate diverse data sources into insights, and actionable recommendations  
  • Exceptional project management skills with proven track record in driving a wide range of strategic initiatives with measurable adoption and impact 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel for data visualization and analysis 
  • Ability to present data in a clear and concise visual format for senior leadership 
  • Solution-oriented mindset with ability to anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies 
  • Aligns stakeholders, builds trusted partnerships with Business Unit peers and Group functions, and drives shared ownership 
  • Adaptable personality who responds quickly to challenges and changing priorities 
  • Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written 
  • University education (bachelor's and/or master's degree) 

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience in (re)insurance or financial services 

For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,100 and 5,100 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:  

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,  
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience. 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
