Software Developer (Hybrid option)

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Software Developer, you'll own the technical design and implementation of custom components, setup, and configuration of off-the-shelf components and contribute to making the solution end-to-end successful as part of a dedicated team. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.
About the team
The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, corporate security, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy.
As a part of the Security Team, the main aim of the Cyber Defence Solutions team is to develop, improve, and maintain innovative platforms such as Threat Intelligence, SOAR and its automations playbooks. We're looking for a highly experienced cyber security professional with a strong background in engineering and team-leading skills.
In your role, you will…
- Be someone who believes in continuous innovation, is curious and relentless in finding a better way every day
- Design and build new cybersecurity orchestration automation via API integrations
- Maintain and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the existing automations within the cybersecurity orchestration platform
- Conduct research to identify and implement new techniques and tools that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the cybersecurity orchestration automation platform
- Collaborate with threat detection security engineers to develop and implement custom solutions for detecting and responding to emerging cyber threats
Your qualifications

- What we need from you
- Passion, drive, and a belief in the value of cybersecurity automation as an enabler of business performance
- Experience in python development in complex corporate environments
- The ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders effectively – from cybersecurity analysts to application owners
- A track record of successful delivery in API integrations developed with Python
- A high level of integrity, result-oriented approach, and composure under pressure
- Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills
- Nice-to-have
- Experience with cloud native technologies and environments
- Experience working with SOAR capabilities development
- Knowledge of detection rule development, covering tools (such as SIEM, EDRs) and industry frameworks (such as MITRE ATT&CK®)
- Experience working as a security analyst or incident responder (in a SOC/CSIRT/on-call setup)
For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 42,000 and EUR 70,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
