About the Role
In this position, you'll be assessing risks and negotiating insurance conditions for diverse projects in power generation, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction and renewable energy.
We are open to any level of experience, as we offer development and will evaluate the level of seniority during the recruitment process. This can be from graduate level with a technical background or if you have a few years of experience in Insurance, Industry or Construction sectors already.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess risks and negotiate insurance conditions for projects in power, manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy and construction sectors
- Build and develop relationships with clients, brokers, and partners, acting as a trusted point of contact for Engineering & Construction insurance solutions
- Lead underwriting processes when acting in a lead capacity, ensuring rigorous technical analysis and sound decision-making
- Contribute to business development by actively representing Corporate Solutions and identifying opportunities to grow our presence in the market

You'll be joining a team of experienced Senior Underwriters based in Paris, with deep expertise across the construction and engineering insurance market. Our team serves clients primarily in France, insuring their projects and assets on a worldwide basis — meaning the work is as diverse as it is impactful. You'll benefit from the knowledge and mentorship of seasoned professionals while also having the space to bring your own ideas and perspective. Beyond Paris, you'll regularly interact with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions offices across the globe, giving you a truly international dimension to your day-to-day work.
About You
You're curious, motivated, and eager to grow in the world of corporate insurance. You take initiative, communicate with clarity and confidence, and you understand — or are excited to learn — the dynamics of the Engineering and Construction insurance environment. You bring a technical mindset and a collaborative spirit, and you're ready to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- You have an Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, civil, or process engineering
- First experience in the industry, (re)insurance sector, or construction — whether as an Underwriter, Loss Adjuster, or in a technical role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with clients, brokers, and colleagues at all levels
- Fluent in both French and English, enabling effective engagement with our clients, colleagues.
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience in the Construction & Engineering and/or Power & Utility sectors
- Knowledge of additional languages, which could be a valuable asset in our international working environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Compensation & Work Model
The estimated base salary range in France for this position is from EUR 62,000 to EUR 94,000.
The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days
