About the Role

As an Underwriting Analyst, you'll be the backbone of our underwriting operations, ensuring smooth processing of International Insurance business for our corporate customers in the Spanish market. You'll collaborate with local underwriters, EMEA Operations teams, and colleagues across Europe to deliver exceptional service and maintain our high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert in Construction and Engineering, supporting underwriting for complex and large international accounts
  • Structure and coordinate multinational insurance programs, ensuring correct setup, documentation, and alignment across countries and stakeholders
  • Manage full accounts end-to-end, from underwriting support and program structuring to documentation issuance and lifecycle management according to stablished SLA's
  • Review and analyze technical documentation, translating findings into underwriting-relevant insights
  • Ensure accurate reflection of terms, conditions, and risk characteristics in underwriting systems and tools
  • Coordinate closely with international operations, local teams, and external partners to ensure timely delivery and consistency across the program
  • Engage with customers through regular interaction with external brokers and insured clients
  • Oversee contractual documentation (policies, certificates, endorsements), ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with local and international requirements
  • Contribute actively to process improvement initiatives, SOP development, and system enhancements, bringing a technical and operational perspective
  • Execute rule-based tasks following standard operating procedures with precision and attention to detail

You will be joining our local Spanish team based in Madrid, a diverse group with varied proficiencies, skills, and experience levels, all united in their commitment to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' success. The team works collaboratively with underwriters and operations specialists across EMEA to deliver exceptional service to our corporate clients and broker partners.

Together, we navigate the complexities of international insurance programs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Solid experience in Construction and Engineering Line of Business within International Insurance Programs, minimum required 5 years
  • Proven track record managing multinational programs and full accounts for large and complex corporate clients
  • Strong understanding of Construction and Engineering along with Property policy structures
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to translate technical concepts into underwriting and client-facing language
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a quality-driven mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural, international environments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Problem-solving skills when working with detailed information

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 38,000 and EUR 64,000 (for a full-time role) based in experience and knowledge, with additional performance-based compensation and benefits.
