We're seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Underwriting Associate to support our Engineering and Construction portfolio in Corporate Solutions. About the Role

As an Underwriting Associate in our Business Services team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our underwriting operations for the Engineering and Construction portfolio. You'll collaborate with underwriters and stakeholders across multiple regions to ensure efficient and compliant business execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process policy documentation with precision and attention to detail

  • Set up and finalise policies in various systems (underwriting, pricing, invoices) ensuring data accuracy

  • Handle closings and contract changes efficiently

  • Create and maintain electronic records following established guidelines and processes

  • Manage basic underwriting tasks, renewals, quotes, and endorsements including Broker engagement

  • Support premium handling, monitoring and collection processes

  • Collaborate with outsourced providers to resolve queries and issues

  • Update and modify applicable tools, systems, and documents as needed

About the Team

The Operations team provides end-to-end operational and administrative support to Underwriting, including selected underwriting assistance. The team operates in a global, cross-functional model spanning Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe, the USA, and India, working closely with global and regional stakeholders to enable efficient and compliant business execution.

About You

You're a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for learning. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Previous insurance experience, ideally with exposure to underwriting

  • Excellent communication skills and strong team collaboration abilities

  • Accurate and efficient data analysis skills with sound understanding of numbers

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Solutions and results-oriented mindset with ability to multi-task effectively

  • Strong service and client orientation
  • Demonstrated professionalism and integrity in previous roles

These are additional nice to haves:

  • A keen interest in developing underwriting expertise

  • Studying towards or willing to study for Diploma in General Insurance (ANZIIF) or similar qualification

  • Experience working in global or cross-functional teams

For Australia, the base salary range for this position is between AUD 88,000 and AUD 132,000 for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role as well as the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
