Aiden Joo is the Head of the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) Group at Marsh, based in New York City.
He leads the practice in coordinating the delivery of Marsh’s ART resources, managing client teams, developing marketplace strategies, and designing innovative solutions for complex and unconventional risks. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of traditional and alternative programs, including Bespoke Risk Transfer, Performance Warranty Insurance, Structured and Integrated Programs, Captive Stop Loss, Parametric Solutions, and Non-Damage Business Interruption. With more than 20 years in the underwriting business, Aiden has extensive experience designing and delivering ART solutions for large and sophisticated corporate clients. He works closely with organizations to build long-term strategies, conducting in-depth risk assessments, identifying coverage gaps, and providing data-driven recommendations tailored to evolving needs. He is recognized for combining deep technical knowledge with a client-first approach, helping businesses address risks where traditional solutions are not viable.
Before joining Marsh in 2019, Aiden served as U.S. Practice Leader for AXA XL’s Structured Risk Solutions, where he advanced global ART initiatives and developed integrated, structured, and parametric programs. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions leading ART businesses for major insurers, driving business development, opening new distribution channels, and building robust pipelines. He is also known for his technical underwriting expertise in integrated risk programs, structured financing, cyber, and management liability, supported by an extensive network of broker, agency, and insurer relationships.
Aiden earned a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice and Political Science from Rutgers University. He also holds the CPCU designation and is an Associate in Reinsurance.
