Andre Martin Head Alternative Risk Transfer Asia & ANZ

Andre Martin is the Head of Alternative Risk Transfer Asia & ANZ, based in Sydney, and has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry.

In his current role Andre is in charge of all non-traditional or alternative risk transfer solutions across the APAC region, ranging from structured re/insurance, across captive solutions to parametric or index-based insurance.

Andre started his career as a commissioning engineer with ABB in Switzerland. After stint as a management consultant with Accenture in Zurich Andre joined Swiss Re in 2002, underwriting large industrial risks in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. From 2013 onwards Andre was heading the Engineering & Construction team in the APAC region before assuming the role as Head of ART APAC in 2018.

Andre holds a Masters degree in mechanical engineering from ETH in Zurich as well as an MBA from UniSA in Adelaide. Andre is also a certified Energy Risk Professional (ERP) by GARP.
