Arka Bhattacharya has been with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (SRCS) since 2017 and holds dual roles as Senior Risk Engineer Casualty and Team Lead for the Risk Engineering team in Bangalore, India.
As Senior Risk Engineer Casualty, Arka is responsible for risk engineering services in support of the casualty construction underwriters. His role involves the assessment of Professional Indemnity, General Liability, Building Material and other Casualty-associated risks for clients and projects from an underwriting perspective.
As Team Lead, he manages a team of Bangalore-based Risk Engineers supporting various regions and Lines of Businesses globally. As a member of the global Risk Engineering Team, Arka is also responsible for improving the awareness of risks and the corresponding solutions and delivering training internally and externally to enhance knowledge transfer and experience sharing.
With over 14 years of industry experience as a design engineer, Arka has previously worked on various infrastructure & transportation projects as well as projects in the oil & petrochemical and utilities industries in India, UAE, and USA.
Arka holds a MS in Civil Engineering (2008), and a BE in Civil Engineering (2001). He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) from the State of Maryland, USA, and is fluent in Bengali, Hindi, and English languages.
