Denis has over 30 years of experience in the risk transfer and risk financing solutions through the various positions in his career. Since 2022, he is the Head Group Insurance and Risk Financing at Holcim Ltd, the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions. He is also Director of Holcim's Reinsurance Captive and, as such, permanently looking for balanced engineering solutions between traditional insurance / reinsurance markets, proposal, the internal risk appetite through the captive and and innovative financial constructions.

Denis started his career at Marsh in Marine Cargo and Aviation followed by an exciting period managing reversed flow RM accounts for large US Corporations. 

In 2001 he became Deputy Director Insurance for Suez (later ENGIE) and was managing the Insurance Team for the European Power Division. From 2009 until 2012 he was in charge of all insurable risk solutions worldwide for Engie Power including the large construction projects and managing the Nuclear risk transfer solutions with Mutual Insurance Companies and reinsurance captive vehicles.  

In 2012, he moved to Aon, first, as European Poyer Specialty Leader and secondly as Chairman of the Global Poyer Specialty.

As from 2017, he took up the challenge of recreating a new risk transfer approach for COFCO International (Geneva) which was newly born out of the merger of Noble Agri and Nidera, two of the largest agri-traders.

Denis holds a Master degree in Law at the KUL in Leuven (Belgium) and a Master Degree in Maritime and Aviation Law at the ULB (Brussels). He has also a Master degree in Business Administration and Management at CEDEP (INSEAD - Fontainebleau).
