Katie McGrath Chief Underwriting Officer Corporate Solutions

Katie McGrath is the Chief Underwriting Officer of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Prior to taking up this role, Katie was North America's Chief Executive Officer and has been a member of the Corporate Solutions Executive Committee since July 2022.

Katie is responsible for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' underwriting discipline, which spans all global underwriting portfolios including Property, Casualty, Financial lines and Accident and Health across both mid-market and large corporate segments. She also has oversight for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Alternative Risk Transfer unit and Risk Engineering services.

During her role as CEO North America, she was responsible for developing and executing regional business plans, and profitably growing the overall book of business in a way that best serves clients.

Katie joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in 2019 as head of the company's Accident & Health business unit in North America. She has more than 25 years of experience across multiple roles in commercial insurance.

Prior to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, she most recently served as Head of Specialty and Sponsor Solutions at AIG.  In her career she was responsible for sales, underwriting, claims and operations. Katie has a long track record of profitably growing businesses, combining technical expertise with a client-focused mindset, building high performing teams, and developing new talent. 

Katie holds a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Rutgers University. She is a member of the M200 Risk Management Association and leads non-profit efforts in New Jersey supporting adolescent depression and anxiety.
