Graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1983, economic majored, he started his insurance career at Meiji Life Insurance Company (presently Meiji Yasuda Life) in Tokyo.  Following 24 years, he was engaged in international operations most of his time including overseas M&As, international alliance development, marketing, finance control, legal and HR, and various fields.  He lived and worked in the U.S. for fifteen years. 

In 2007, he moved across to risk management/general insurance world, by joining a world leading insurance broker/consultant in the U.S.  He served another international broker/consultant in Tokyo.  During the period, he had “two hats” as a consultant for global risk and general insurance management and global employee benefits, specialized in the U.S. health insurance benefits and international benefits pooling. 

He joined Terumo in 2015 and has served as a quarterback of global risk management for nine years.  He set up a complete global insurance program out of Japan HQ and later created a captive to self-insure major lines of coverage.  He has also been engaged in various corporate initiatives including ERM, crisis management, facility resilience management and BCM/BCP.
