Relevant Experience
Philip Brandl started his career at Swiss Re in 2012, building-up the regional Property Risk Engineering team across Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is a Core Management team member of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Risk Engineering team, responsible for defining the vision and executing on the global roadmap.
In addition to his leadership role for the EMEA region, Philip currently works with his cross functional team on marketing a new product to use drones for flood assessments (Swiss Re Corporate Solutions FLOAT) and helps promote Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' value proposition for Risk Engineering Services. He also supports the development of data-based risk solutions.
- Co-creator of FLOAT together with Anup Roy (Manager RES Natural Hazards) leading a pre-conceptual idea, over Proof-of-Concept, negotiating the contractual and servicing framework, developing a marketing concept into operational phase
- Global service coordinator for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Risk Engineering's NatCat Portfolio Service-Value-Proposition
- Leadership of various large Portfolio risk assessments for automotive OEMs and other global companies
- Technical Expert advising on the development of a vulnerability concept for a large international customer
- Former global Flood Champion, developing and enhancing location flood risk analysis for asset protection purposes and connected these with Swiss Re NatCat model assumptions
- Part of Expert group assessing the "Realistic-Amount-at-stake", combining Swiss Re model assumptions with portfolio-specific modifiers, unique to each customer
- Technical Expert, advising the Swiss Re CatPerils unit in the development of a new Winter-Storm Europe model
- Technical Expert, advising the Swiss Re CatPerils unit in the development of a size-modifier for jumbo locations' Flood Expected Loss modelling
- CatNat ambassador, advising on the development of Swiss Re Group's future Service-Value-Proposition for CatNet®
Before joining Swiss Re, he worked for a large corporate insurance company in Frankfurt, Germany as a Project engineer on large construction sites.
Philip is a public speaker, and is a regular keynote speaker across Europe.
