Roger Wenger Expert Products Underwriter FinPro

Roger studied economics and business administration at the University of Applied Science in Zurich. He worked at Winterthur Insurance and Union Bank of Switzerland before joining Swiss Re as a Casualty Underwriter in 1993.  

From July 1995 to May 2002, he worked in Group Product Management Casualty where among other responsibilities, he set up and ran a group wide advisory service for Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Employment Practice Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Bankers Professional Liability and Professional Indemnity (PI) for Lawyers and Accountants.  

From June 2002 to September 2005, he worked in Risk Solutions, Swiss Re’s direct insurance underwriting unit, as an Underwriting Manager and was responsible for the underwriting of D&O Liability, Employment Practice Liability and Fiduciary Liability worldwide. In 2003 Roger has been appointed to the rank of Underwriting Expert Casualty. From October 2005 to December 2013, he has worked as a Chief Underwriter Financial Lines in the Single Risk Hub Casualty. Following Swiss Re's global standardization of hierarchy levels and titles, he became a director on 1 January 2007.

Since January 2014 he has been working in the FinPro department as an Underwriting Center Head having the technical oversight of D&O Liability, Employment Practice Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Bankers Professional Liability, PI for Lawyers and Accountants and Transactional Liability.  

An additional duty of Roger is to buy the D&O Insurance for the Swiss Re Group.
