Susan Imler Head Communications P&C Re & Americas Group Communications

Susan has spent more than three decades working in various areas of public relations, marketing, and communications, primarily for insurance and financial services companies. She began her career writing newsletters for the agents of Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, and today she's come full circle, leading all of Swiss Re's communications for its Property & Casualty business around the world. In addition, she leads a team of communications experts who support all Swiss Re business units across Canada, the US and Latin America.

Susan has worked in many locations around the world but Swiss Re's brand new office in Fort Wayne, Indiana, remains her home base. Her greatest joy at work continues to be developing people and teams and witnessing the evolution of communication and its power to create impact on company culture and bottom-line results.

Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy restoring their historic home and spending time with their four adult children and two Newfoundlands – dogs big enough to refill their empty nest. Susan is a writer at heart with a particular passion for speaking to audiences about the challenges of balancing career and caretaking for aging parents and children.
