Tze Way Yeong has been working in the risk engineering field since 1997, with the exception of approximately 3 years when he was a property underwriter in Swiss Re.
Prior to joining the risk engineering field, Tze Way worked in ASM Technology (Singapore) Pte Ltd and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals (S) Pte Ltd, (now known as Glaxo Smithkline) as (senior) chemical engineer. Tze Way later joined ICI (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as a process and commissioning engineer and was deployed to United Kingdom to work on a multi-million sterling pound acrylic monomer project.
Tze Way started his risk engineering career when he joined Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd., Kuala Lumpur branch in 1997. He conducted property risk engineering surveys, business interruption surveys and liability surveys, as well as risk management training for clients. His risk engineering work took him around Far East and South East Asia.
Tze Way then rejoined briefly with ICI on some projects before moving to Global Risk Consultants (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd in 2001. His consulting work includes property loss prevention, business interruption survey and fire protection reviews.
Tze Way rejoined Swiss Reinsurance Company in May 2004 and has been involved in property risk engineering work except for three years as property underwriter.
Some of the facilities that Tze Way visited include wafer fabrication plants, textile mills, pulp and paper plants, steel mills and airports, with values in excess of USD 1 billion. Some of the facilities that he had visited include TSMC, UMC, Toshiba. ST Microelectronics, Siam Cement Pulp and Paper, RGE, Advance Agro, Sony, General Motors, Proton.
Tze Way manages the risk engineering team for general property in Asia. He based in Singapore.
