Veronica Scotti was appointed Group Managing Director, Chairperson Swiss Re Public Sector Solutions (PSS) in July 2018 with a mandate to establish and grow globally the public sector business segment on behalf of the Swiss Re Group.

PSS's mandate is to establish and grow the public sector business segment globally on behalf of the Swiss Re Group. On the back of the Group's extensive expertise, PSS develops innovative risk insights and risk transfer solutions for public sector clients, to help them meet their distinct economic and societal resilience goals. The team engages globally with branches of national and sub-sovereign governments, public entities, government-backed risk pools, sovereign wealth funds, crown corporations and state-owned enterprises, as well as national, international and multilateral organizations, DFIs, PPPs and foundations, and partners with them for economic progress, sustainable development, and strengthening of societal resilience against a multitude of shocks.

Previous professional experience
Veronica joined Swiss Re in 1999 in London through the Group's acquisition of Fox-Pitt Kelton, a boutique investment bank specialized in FIG. Following her move to Swiss HQ in Zurich in 2002, she gained deeper insurance sector experience, with roles in asset management, strategy, risk management and products. From 2007 to 2013, she held reinsurance client-facing positions as Head of Business Development EMEA and Key Account Manager Globals, before moving to New York to become Client Executive, MD, with global responsibility for some of Swiss Re’s largest reinsurance clients. In 2015 Veronica was appointed President and CEO of Canada & the English Caribbean based in Toronto, a role she maintained until her return to Zurich in 2018. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Veronica started her career in investment banking in 1994, working in the UK, Switzerland and Italy with Banque Paribas, Union Bank of Switzerland and Banco di Napoli.

Educational background
Veronica holds an MBA from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, and a master's degree in International Commerce from the Naval University Institute, Naples, Italy.

Personal information
Veronica is married and has two adult children and a dog. She speaks fluently Italian, English, Spanish and has good understanding of German, French and Russian.
