About the Role
As Divisional Operations Manager, you'll drive operational excellence across Group Data Services. You'll lead a small team and ensure smooth delivery of strategic, communication, and operational priorities. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Head of Strategy & Operations, you'll translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans — keeping our division running efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coach a team of operations specialists and assistants to ensure effective delivery
Streamline and optimize processes to improve efficiency and team performance
Coordinate divisional planning, governance, and leadership reporting
Manage communications, executive materials, and progress reviews for divisional leadership
Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting to inform decision-making and highlight improvement opportunities
Manage overarching initiatives and projects as they arise
About the Team
The Strategy & Operations team shapes GDS's strategic direction and transformation, ensuring alignment and operational excellence across all departments. We bridge strategy and delivery — an energetic, solution-oriented team that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and making things happen. You'll lead a team of 4 within this dynamic environment, working closely with the Head of Strategy & Operations and collaborating across GDS departments to drive operational excellence and strategic initiatives.
About You
You're a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational abilities and a talent for translating complex objectives into actionable plans. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and you thrive in dynamic environments where you can drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
Previous experience in operations management, PMO, or business management roles
Proven track record of process improvement and operational delivery
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive reporting
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to translate data into insights
These are additional nice to haves:
Experience with data-driven operations or analytics platforms (e.g. Power BI, Foundry)
Prior experience in large, global or matrixed organizations
Familiarity with agile or transformation environments
Project and Organizational Change Management experience
Experience in a data, digital, or transformation-focused environment
Familiarity with Swiss Re tools or global enterprise systems
Passion for continuous improvement and enabling high-performing teams
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,900] and [EUR 4,800] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
