Legal Counsel (Temporary, Part-time)

About the Role
As part of the Corporate Governance & Operations team, you will:
- Advise internal clients on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, in Slovakia and beyond.
- Draft and provide legal advice, review contracts and other legal documentation, provide presentations and training.
- Provide local expertise and on the ground support to fellow Swiss Re Legal & Compliance specialists, including in areas of reinsurance, dispute resolution, compliance, corporate governance, employment and intellectual property.
- Support internal projects, develop efficient policies and practices, share knowledge to promote consistency and increase the agility and effectiveness of the team.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.
- Liaising with notaries, external legal advisors and regulatory bodies
Note that this is a part-time, temporary position (maternity cover).

About You
You are a confident, self-starting professional with refined organisational skills and a commitment to upholding strong governance and integrity. Your ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy makes you stand out, as does your commitment to ethical business practices and discretion when handling sensitive information. You thrive in a collaborative environment but can also drive matters independently.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Slovak legal qualification with a minimum 5-year post-qualification experience
- Experience in a top-tier law firm or relevant in-house position
- Fluency in English and Slovak (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical legal advice in a business context
- Experience managing multiple legal matters simultaneously with attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
- Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams
These are additional nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the re/insurance industry
- Experience in international companies
- Project management skills
- Additional European languages
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between 3,000 EUR and 5,000 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
