About the Role

As a Senior Operational & Process Excellence Lead in our IT organization, you will be a key driver of operational transformation. You will work closely with IT leadership and business units to analyse, improve, and embed high-impact process and performance improvements. You will serve as a trusted consultant and change agent, applying structured methodologies and innovative thinking to deliver sustainable business value.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead strategic and complex process optimization initiatives across the global IT function.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders on process, technology, and people transformation topics, aligning outcomes with business goals.
  • Design and implement frameworks and methodologies to standardize process improvement and operational excellence across teams.
  • Analyse end-to-end IT processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile tools to identify inefficiencies and eliminate waste.
  • Benchmark internal practices against industry standards to ensure Swiss Re remains at the forefront of operational efficiency.
  • Coach and enable IT and business leaders to build a continuous improvement culture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across global locations to identify and address systemic improvement opportunities.
  • Support development of strategic roadmaps, dashboards, and KPIs for performance measurement.
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor during large-scale initiatives.

About You (Qualifications, Experience, and key Skills)

  • 6+ years of experience in process excellence, operational improvement, or consulting within IT or technology-enabled business functions.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, with Green or Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing complex improvement programs or digital transformations within financial services, preferably re/insurance or IT services.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge and influence at senior leadership level.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, coaching, and storytelling with data.
  • Advanced experience with process mapping and improvement tools (e.g., SIPOC, VSM, Fishbone).
  • Familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL, Agile, DevOps, or COBIT.
  • Experience in coaching, training, or change management (PROSCI certification is a plus).
  • Business, Engineering, or IT-related university degree; MBA or similar qualification is an asset.
  • Fluent in English; comfortable working in a global, multicultural environment.
