About the Role:
We are looking for a versatile and driven Senior Business Data Analyst with a solid foundation in business analysis and a growing focus on AI. In this pivotal role, you will gather and define requirements to enable the development of robust data pipelines that power operational processes and advanced analytics.
You will also contribute to the identification and scoping of AI use cases, helping to shape and support AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business value.
Working cross-functionally with data engineers, visualization experts, and business stakeholders, you will help build scalable data infrastructure, ensure data quality, and enable insight delivery through dashboards and analytics applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the data engineering/visualization teams.
- Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization use cases.
- Define and validate KPIs and business metrics, ensuring alignment across data pipelines and dashboard outputs.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure source data is captured, cleaned, and modeled effectively to meet business needs.
- Work with visualization engineers to ensure insights are presented clearly through intuitive dashboards and self-service tools.
- Lead data validation and UAT efforts to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and completeness throughout the data lifecycle.
- Identify data gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Develop clear and concise documentation including user stories, data dictionaries, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and collaborate with engineers to implement sustainable solutions.
- Support training, adoption, and rollout of data products across the organization.
About the Team:
You will be part of Area III – Data Engineering & Analytics Product Area, which serves as the data backbone for several key group functions including HR, Legal & Compliance, Procurement, Communications, Branding, Marketing, and Corporate Real Estate Services.
About You:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role in a data-centric environment.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams involving data engineers, visualization developers, and business users.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering end-to-end data solutions, from ingestion to dashboard delivery.
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and exposure to how models are used in business applications.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of data quality and reconciliation testing best practices.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating large datasets.
- Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and data integration processes.
- Exposure to APIs, application interfaces, and modern data architectures is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum environments, including writing user stories and participating in sprint planning.
- Nice to have: Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and how models (e.g., predictive analytics, scoring systems) integrate with data platforms.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills — able to effectively bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
- High attention to detail with a strong analytical and critical thinking mindset.
- Self-starter with the ability to lead initiatives independently and influence without authority.
- Collaborative and solutions-oriented, with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
