Mahesh Puttaiah is a PhD in economics with more than a decade of research experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. He has authored/contributed to publications in a wide range of topics, including, consumer preferences, protection gap, industry and macroeconomic analysis, topics related to emerging markets and decarbonisation. Before Swiss Re, he was involved in academic research in the area of stochastic frontier analysis and Indian banking industry, the results of which are published in various peer-reviewed academic journals.
